I really like how the soft rocks frame the painting. It's a very interesting composition
Ahhh...I'll try that next time. I mixed a green, added the color of the sky and got something awful! Thanks for the help. Yours looks fab. The yellows and purples play nicely off of each other and the depth of field is...well...deep. Very nice job. Wish I could do as well.

Delores, I started with a really pale blue grey and then added a purpler blue, dulled with a tiny bit of gold ochre and cad.yellow med. I just kind of mix and mix on and off the canvas until I like the color. If you look at my underpainting you can see the original pale blue grey.
Ha! Jane, how did you mix the color for the distant headland. I had such an awful time getting it to look right. This looks terrific!
