Richard and Stuart,

Thanks for the encouraging words.  Today I started a block/fruit study inside with watercolor and set one up outside because I need to do some observations on how values and color are effected on a cloudy day.  I'm trying to determine if the light on a cloudy is cool or warm which then would in turn affect the temperature of your shadows.  I sketched out the blocks outside and tried to write the value number I felt they were using a grayscale/Richard's ultimate tool/the hole in a view finder.  I found this to be a challenging activity.   I didn't even get to the temperature of the color.  My fingers were freezing - it was only about 36 degrees.  More to come on this one !
