My painting for the December Challenge revised after Richard's comments.

At this time of the year our New Zealand Christmas Tree (Pohutukawa) is in full bloom. These trees have lots of aerial roots and cling to the rocky cliff faces on the northern coastlines

Hazel, this is a nice painting!  I love the visual path leading in especially and you handled the atmospheric perspective well.  Nice shimmer on the water in the distance.  Every inch has interest.  Have a lovely Christmas!
