Thank you, Jane. I gave it a go again today and did a second painting without working over the first... though I think I may just do that, add the highlights and touch up a few places. You have been so kind, thank you for your thoughts! :) My biggest problem is color mixing. I really have issues with what kind of colors to choose in the first place and whether to mix the color first before I paint or to do it on the fly. I may just do more monotone studies until I understand values and color harmony. I feel all over the place here. Have a great evening! :)
You can go back and work on it if you want. If the paint is dry, give it a very light coating of medium.
Otherwise you should have no problem painting on top. I don't think there is much wrong with this painting at all. Just a few highlights.
Thank you Jane. I'm not sure I can keep working on this (can I?).. I don't have my paint piles from yesterday. Is there a way that I can continue to work over the top or do I have to wait for the paint to dry? I'm afraid I'll turn it into mud. Agree about the fruit... now that I see it from here, there is a lot wrong with this painting! LOL :) Thanks so much for coming by!
I agree with Marta. I can't wait to see it too. The reflections are great in pitcher too. I just want to see a little lighter highlights on the fruit. (Maybe it's just the photo, which looks a bit dark) It is a great setup.
Hi Marta, thanks for stopping in! I'm not sure I'll continue with this one.. had to stop because dear sons needed dinner and I'm done for the day.. I may start another whole one tomorrow and give it another go. :) Thank you so much.. was challenging! I do love the bright light on the table, that was my favorite :)
Looking Good Rose! I just took a break from painting. Saw your "Still Life Set-up. Wow.. love the reflection on the table top. Can't wait to see it after your done.
I see this really needs some work! Back to the canvas!!!
