Thank you Annie. About keep the leftover paints longer time, I tried put them under the water. Up to now, they are in good condition, the colour are fresh and easy to use. I use them for study or uder painting. I has not try to use them for final layers yet, still worried that their quality may be affected by water.  Maybe somebody else here knows better about this important issue.

Hi Li Another gorgeous painting well done. I also made up too much paint and ended up doing two postings Was gonna try for a water clour as well but am running out of time Might still post one as I have a challenge on with an Aussi water colour artist We will see perhaps tomight before 12 midnight.!!!!! With my left over paint Stu suggested I get a Stay wet palate. This is a plastic kind of case in which you put a special paper that has been soaked in water. The paints go on top of this. I have yet to reuse the paints so not sure how long I have got Watch this space as they say. Anyway lovely painting You are the " bomb"

Hi Li, I keep my leftover paint under water.  Just put it in a bowl and fill it with water - that is oils.  If I am going to work with it still the next 3 days, I put it in the freezer and then thereafter under water.  In the freezer it keeps well for a week and under water for much longer - don't know how long yet, as I just start doing it.  Barry of the VAA course suggest it in our notes as he is doing it, but I still test it to see how long it is going to last - so far more than a week.

Thank you Rita, Dorian and Aurelia. I did this by using my leftover paint too. I was supprised by the result as it only take me more than 10minutes. You can try it next time, and I am sure that you will be happy about it. It was a beautiful colour study and I, by luck, nailed it as Dorian said. But, then when I worked on my bigger final one, I started to labor as I thought oh, it has to be good as it is the final one. I lost my freedom of expression on brush stroke. The colours also changed. I like  the colour of this one more than my final work. Tomorrow, I will take picture of it and upload here for your critiques.  By the way, do you know how to save leftover paints longer time? Put them in the closed glass jar?

Nice painting.  I like your warm colours and yes, I can feel the heat too.  Nice brushstrokes too.

Hi Li

You are so good with your colors. This painting shows depth.  In American slang "I think you have nailed it!"  Smiles to you Li  : ))
