My husband and I recently returned from a trip to Chile, including some time in the south (Patagonia). This painting is of the Petrohué rapids, a gorgeous spot where the water is known for its brilliant turquoise colour. We were blessed with a perfect sunny sky for an entire day when we toured this spectacular area.

Thanks for the encouraging comments, Kevin, Silvana & Lori!  Kevin, it would be a fabulous place for hiking & painting, provided you got good weather!  We were told it rains 2 out of 3 days there.  On a sunny day like we had, some of the lakes with volcanoes & the Andes in the background look almost unbelievably beautiful!

Beautiful Jessica!!!! Such a wonderful place, full of magic!!! I remember that it was cloudy when I've been there and that the water looked more emerald green towards an aquamarine... Happy you have painted this spot!!!! :) !!!!

Wow, lucky you!  Patagonia.  I would love to backpack that area and paint.  You captured the feeling of the rushing water.  I can almost hear it as I look at your painting.  Rocks area nicely done and I like the brushwork throughout the painting.
