Thanks Michael, did this on location, and the clouds have changed all the time. I think I know what you mean by the "S" curve cloud formation, will try to adjust it. Thanks for your advice, I do appreciate it :)
Hi Andras. I think that maybe you should have followed the cloud pattern in your reference photo. Those clouds have a nice path back to the tree ... thus making a very nice "S" curve or circular movement around the painting ... the design keeps us in the painting. The clouds in your painting do the opposite .. they take us right out of the painting .. never to reenter. Take a close look at your reference photo and follow the path your eye takes from the foreground rocks, to the island, circling to the right via the clouds, and got the tree, down the trunk, and back to the beginning. Your painting should do the same thing .. and it can if you redo the design of the clouds.
