Because of a bad internet connection, I wasn't able to paint along with the whole video - that's my excuse, anyway, for not attempting the lady! As soon as I posted this previously, I noticed that the shapes were all parallel & echoed, so I tried to change that.

Thanks for the description of that technique, Michael - I am painting this scene again, with a slightly different composition, & will give it a try!
Jessica, In reference to the house peeking out of the trees on the background hill: Please allow me to give you a great technique that will make the house and trees as one....(no,your house is fine) ....Okay, first paint the tree mass without the house, THEN ..wipe back into the tree mass (you don't need to wipe back to the white of the canvas) the approximate shape of the house ..then paint the house shape, being sure to meld your edges into the tree mass ....the result will be that the house sits INTO and among the tree mass. Anyway, another technique you can put into your arsenal.
Thank you very much Michael!
Great painting Jessica. I love your use of gradation throughout the painting.
Thank you Dor - that's very kind! Smiles back to you & have a wonderful time over the holiday season!
You do not need an excuse for anything! Your painting is awesome Jessica! Smiles for you ;-)
Thank you Larissa!
I like it, looks differently.
Thanks for your encouraging comment, Ian! I don't plan to add the lady now - too difficult! I'm impressed with all the ones who painted her so beautifully! I'd have to practise that one :)
Thank you for your kind comments, Sarah, Cristina, Suzanne, Silvana & Laura!
