Thanks, Kathy and Gregory. This painting just sold. This is a "mixed media" painting. I used a splattering of gold leaf to further emphasize the feeling of sunlight penetration through the trees. The paintings surrounding this one are also my work. My plan is to paint more of these "nature" related themes, using a painting knife to build up texture. I appreciate all your comments; they help me know what appeals to the public.

A cathedral in the forest, subtle emotional pull to the top of this painting with form, color and depth of detail

Thanks, Janet. I was taught the techniques of the old masters early in my career and still find it difficult to restrict detail in my paintings. This was a large painting compared to the others displayed around it.
