Joe, your concept is great and your colors are good also.  Your values need to be punched up though.  Also, Joe, in future paintings, try to avoid the left to right parallel strips of your elements.  Instead, find a way to lead the viewer INTO your painting and toward the focal point.  Ask yourself:  Here is my focal point, now how am I going to get the viewer there?
