Painted four studies for this workshop, two from the video and two from a still life set-up. The hardest part for me was trying to get the light on the petals right - the greys looked too dull.

Great work Jessica!
These are all great paintings Jessica. I think I prefer the top right.
Jessica, you really worked on those flowers. To me, they all nicely painted. I enjoy those background you designed which really let the flowers stand out and also have the movement of the air. Very nice. As for the light and shadows on the petals, which make the viewers to see the shape of the flowers, I prefer the 2nd and 4th one. they showed that you understand their structure well. Another thing, you made big effort on those flowers but still have mind and energy to paint those stems and small leaves so well. Happy for you!!!
This is a lot of work, Jessica! I am really impressed with the amount of work and time you invested in this studies. You captured the light pretty well. I like the light on the top right study, main flower. Even that is full frontal, which is a very hard position to capture the character of this flowers, I can feel the undulation in petals because of the light and shade interchange. But, do not be disappointed, they are all good in their own right.
They all look nice, Jessica - I think the bottom right one seems to please me most
Thanks Candi - it seemed too much to post 4 separate paintings! I tried to mix exactly the same shades as Richard did, but I couldn't get my petunias to look as beautiful as his! Something about the greys I was using seemed to dull them down too much.
They look really good Jessica! Post them all separately so we can see them better! I'm just finishing up another one too, these little guys are obsessive! I can't get the colors OR the grays! Have to take a break, to get my haircut, posting mine later.
