Very interesting texture, Dry brush strokes made them like this? It makes painting rich.

Beautifully done, Karlo.  I like the way you combined Richard's photo with your own.  Thanks for including yours.

Nice Karlo!  I like your complimentary color harmony and the negative shape in the foreground produced by the foreground boats.    Your water looks good ..reflections are good!!   Good drawing also.  I think you could have designed a better negative shape of the water behind the boats by not making those boats in the rear all line up so perfectly.  You have areas in shadow that are as light in value as areas in light.  You have continuity of your lights, but not so in your shadow forms ....you have a different value for every building side in shadow ..you need to have continuity here.  There is an important contrasty element in Richards painting that did not come off in yours ....the light and shadow planes of the far buildings ..more contrast is needed to define light and shadow in that area.  Your use of a split complimentary color scheme gives the painting UNITY, but it lacks HARMONY.  To make this painting harmonious, some of the blue/greens could have been painted into the shadows.  I do see hints of the red/orange and yellow/orange in the water and boats ...good!!!
