I learned some lessons when plein air painting last week:
-carry "business cards" in plein air kit and have a price in mind ahead of time, do a thumbnail/notan even if you think you know what you will paint and if a construction crew comes along and ask how long you will be, take that as a hint to pack up and leave before the barricades go up and equipment arrives!!

Thanks Michael
I thought the scene in the background looked pretty good!!! ...I like the start of your painting ....nice underpainting ..it glows like the scene in front of you. :))
paint this picture... would be really interesting .... art so close to all that demolition, etc... just a thought
Wow!! Not a good situation!
No, they just started placing their equipment like I was not even there ...I packed up and left.
Oh no Michael! Did they reimburse you for the damage! At least this crew said they put the barricade up to protect me from the equipment
yes I did take photos Laura. I think I will use the plein air piece more for a study and will re do the painting...partly because I did not to a thumbnail or notan and ran into problems.
Happened to me once also!!! .....at least they asked you how long you were going to be ....Work truck (Electric/gas company) ..rolled in and ran over my tripod leg which of course broke it!!!
I had same experience, Laurena. Leave it dry and remove the dust. I hope you did take a picture and able to finish at home.
