Hello again, here is another version of my painting. Michael, I had a bit of problem trying to go by your suggestions, in the end I decided to to move the beach higher up and right along and felt it looked more balanced and I also lightened up the trees a bit. What do you think?
I would like to correct myself with the name of the lady artist beside Michael, her name is Laura Xu. My apologies Laura for my mistake.:))
Another correction to my entry. The place they are painting at is China Camp. http://www.friendsofchinacamp.org/history.html

I am glad you like Laura, I would not have minded to have been there with you as well.  I wanted to paint it from the very first time I saw your photo so I printed it out and kept til I was ready, it reminded me so of Australia when I was out painting in those days.:)  Happy Year to you Laura.

Yes, Yes, Yes!!! ..Wow! ..you made the perfect decisions!! ...look at how those beautiful shapes fit like a jigsaw puzzle!! ..you now have positive and negative shapes all interacting ....great work Steinunn!!   Notice how the overlapping of the canvas and hats has pulled the figures way into the foreground!!  You now have depth between the figures and the distant headland .everything is laying down nicely now ..and no ambiguous shapes.  :))))!

Thank you very much Ann, you make me very happy with your comments, it took bit of thinking.  I was trying to go by Michael´s suggestions, it is always good for oneself to face a changes.:)

Looks great !  I could tell who they are from your great painting back shot. You have captured the painting stances and the mass of Michael along side the slender figure of Laura as they paint the Bay area in northern CA
