I wonder if you remember this photo of Michael Severin and I think it was Chuang Liu? when they went out painting, I think it was about a year ago. I have always wanted to paint them painting at the beach and at long last I did it. It is only a sketch so I decided to stop after 2.5 hours. It would be nice to get some comments my co-artists.

Wow, very good Steinunn!!! ...You gave me a much better pose then I am doing in the photo!!! ..it actually looks like I know what I am doing!! :))   I think you have captured the movement and sense of light very well.  We really feel the bright day and the excitement of painting outdoors...you really did a great job with that, Steinunn.  There is only one thing I would like to suggest:  Your horizon line is very much too high ..which is creating a bit of confusion area just above our canvases.  I would suggest that you lower the horizon to somewhere between Laura and my eyes.  I would try to rework the headlands so that the nearer headland comes more over to the left .behind Laura's hat ..so you have light against dark.  Then the further headland moves over behind my hat (light and dark contrast again ..and overlapping).  You might come up with a better (or easier) solution for that one area?  ...but I think that small area needs to be resolved in some way.   The horizon, though, needs to be lowered to Laura and I eye level.  May I print this out frame it?  It will be hung in my studio!!!  :))
