lovely subject Thomas - and your strong brush strokes carry it through so well to the focal point through to the parallel rows.

Thomas, this is striking! Nice job! Schmid has inspired so many people to be better painters with his body of work, his videos and his books!

Maybe one has to paint on the level of Schmid to really enjoy a good imprimatura, He desribes how great it is to stop any time and call it done. I guess it's a good idea to be able to...For now i am glad that i can rework any square inch!

Interesting what you said about toning your canvas, Thomas.  I am the same way!! ...sometimes I do, sometimes I do not .....and I to have not figured out what works best for me.

Thank you for your feedback!
Laura, sometimes yes sometimes not. Not for this one. It probably does influence the end result but i can't say what is better for me.
Michael, thanks for making me aware of it. It looks like a teddy with an antenna! :-D

Great job Thomas!!!  I like your use of the radiating lines composition.  Your visual music and poetry are evident.  Try to avoid "stacking" ...that is where the telephone pole "grows"  out of the tree on the right.

Beautiful composition, colors, brushwork, simplicity all on the painting! Do you tone your canvas before painting, Thomas!
