Thanks so much Nuala, but have you seen my improved painting ?  It's very colorful and I added sky color to the waves and ocean and land.  The moon has a cloudy sky surrounding it.

Well done Sharon - I particularly like the way you've executed the main pounding wave over the rock!  I also like your background, it brings the whole painting to life!  Way to go girl!

Thanks, Nancy, I guess a little bit of red/orange wouldn't hurt!

Beautifully done, Sharon. I like the way you changed your's from the original. That wave is so powerful and really shows the power of the sea. The only thing I would suggest is to perhaps put some of the red in the water as reflection. I am in Hawaii and have been really noticing the effect the colors in the sky have one the water. Always, what is in the sky is reflected in the water. That is something I need to be conscious of in my paintings. I hope you don't mind my suggestion. Mi really do love your beautiful painting. :-)

I am appreciative of the members who like my painting.  Unfortunately, I ruined the original by painting the sky darker blue and the trees lighter green, looks horible, didn't even post it.  BUT I still have the prints if anyone wants one, go to Sharon-Casavant.artistwebsites.com , thanks a bunch, there are a lot of good waves out there.

I do like that thought, cooling the trees down (atmospheric perspective).

Now that is a good thought Ngaire.  I'm afraid to change things until I hear from Richard what would be the "right" thing...technically speaking.  You are not criticizing, you are critique-ing!  Thanks!

Hi Sharon, you are brave picking a difficult subject.  I love the bold wave and your man is great!  I wonder if the trees in the background should be cooled down and made darker with the bright light from the moon catching them from behind. Just a thought, but I am only a learner and feel so inadequate critisizing anyones work.
