Jon, you are right the branches need some work. Actually the sunlight is on right. All the forground is in the shadow. There are some highlights on the background trees but is not obvious. I will give a few touch up to indicate sunlight direction.

Nice subject! The laundry has lovely texture and the color harmony is nice - maybe it's a bit too "square-on" as a viewpoint? I would perhaps be inclined to work more on the branches (use drybrush for terminal twigs?) and foreground snow - also I ain't sure where the light's coming from?? - overcast snow gray day, I know! Hanging laundry is a lovely subject

Silvana, Michael, thank you for your likes and comments. I wish I could take a better photo of the original painting, because it's actually a little warmer in the background than is shown here. It is not so bleak and cold.

Silvana, I grew up in the north east part of China, and we would hang our clothes outside during the coldest winter. The air was so dry, and the wind so strong, that the clothes would dry before the water in them froze. Although we would sometimes get frozen laundry if they were too wet when we put them out.

Laura, I always wondered if people living in areas with snow, hung their laundry! I thought everybody dried the washed clothes with a machine or next to a heater/stove...!!!!! I see I was wrong... though I suppose it takes days for the clothes to dry!
