This would normally be a preliminary study, but this time it will have to stand alone as my entry. I just could not paint this scene- the more I tried the worse it got. I think now that I've gotten my head around it I may try again, but not in time for the deadline.

Pastels, I love them!

For some reasons I find them terribly difficult to used them though.

This is really beautiful in pastel.  I love the way you handled the sky and rocks. Very well done.  I have only one critique -  I would rather see the distant hills flatter than the foliage in the tree.  This is wonderfully dramatic.
