Christine...Thank You for posting your painting. I really got alot by looking and studying your colors. Especially the background. There is life out there, the sun is shining. And then there's the rock...like the cool grays and blues you have used. Love the richness of the paint. Nice work.
OK I figured out the tags
Nice effect you've achieved with the palette knife! By the way, if this is for the workshop, you need to add the tags!
Thanks so much everyone! I feel encouraged! This was a tough one for me, but I learned so much. I will probably even try this again sometime in the future. I have hated this rock...my husband laughs at me. I am reminded of Richard's quote by Emerson, "Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow." By the way... I wrote that out for my benefit...I need reminding ( =
Christine, Good for you!!! ...I have been waiting to see who was finally going to ignore the bridge and just paint the ROCK! ..and you did a great job too!! Your relationship between the sky and background hills is right on! Very nice how you loose an edge here and there.
I understand about the bridge. Sometimes I try over and over to fix something, like a figure, etc. and then just give up and remove it. But we can always come back to it... Rock is great. Love all the texture!
