Thanks richard! ive got a good instuctor :)
Great textures!
You've given me inspiration to give acrylics a try!
I'm going to be without internet access for the rest of this workshop, I wish the best to everyone with the results! See you next workshop!!
Sharon thanks! I'd be happy to tell you how I did this.. I used the credit card the same way you would plaster a wall..I had a lot of practice when we remodeled our house, :) layer by layer and a lot of scraping back and reapplying. I mixed the paint on the pallet with the credit card, most of the time is wasn't quite totally mixed, and then applied to the canvas. The water reflection area I pulled the colors down as I went or across. Thus the mottled texture there. All the detail work was done with the flat brush. I did use a drybrush effect a lot - I just looked up what that meant! I only add water to my acrylics unless it really needs it. I'm using grumbacher academy acrylics. Hope that helps!
You should try it Lori!
Jess, I really like the effect you created throughout your painting. Can you tell me how you did this...by using the credit card or did you also use a drybrush effect with your brush? It looks wonderful!
Though I used a much smaller brush with this one. :)
Lori, thank you! Last workshop Richard had us try to loosen up by painting with a credit card cut up and a big brush - I decided to try it out in this workshop also. :)
