Oh, thanks. I wondered if you were using the straw tech. I have seen some very interesting effects with this. This worked well. I love that you seem to try so many things. Very creative!

Hi Deb - thanks for your kind words.  This is watercolours - a technique that Jasmmine Jan (a Northern Territory Australian artist) explained in Artist's Palette No 78. Basically you mask out the bird and then using a straw blow the background watercolours around.
