Jeri, thank you very much for taking so much time to give me your excellent ideas on how to improve this painting - it's really helpful!  I am going to work on it some more - really appreciate everyone's input!

Clean color and nice contrast of the mountains and buildings as they are complimentary colors. Good choice that way but I would bring more depth to the piece by glazing the front left grassy area near your name with some alizarin crimson once it dries. It should cause you to jump the road to the rest of the painting and draw you into the other areas. Highlight the trees at the end of the road a bit more on the top to bring you eye around the corner to the buildings which creates a bit of an "S" curve. You could even highlight with another color on the roof tops that would follow the "S" shape from the road up with something warmer like a naples yellow just touching bits of those roofs. I agree with the other comments on the white highlights but you could easily fix with a glaze or wipe out or let dry and go over with a darker value, then re-highlight letting that Naples yellow be the most prominent in the area of the "S" shape. This would really make it stand out nicely. Great job on structure and color harmony.

Thank you all for your lovely comments, Laura, Lori & Ruby!  You may well be right that I overdid the white highlights on the tiled roofs Lori & Ruby - the sun was lighting them up, making them a pale orange colour & it looked washed out & a bit boring when I painted them like that.  Maybe I need to tone down the reds & oranges, as you suggest.
