Thank you Roena.  I am not a sailor myself although I did try to learn to sail small dingys but without success.    However all of my children did learn to sail and loved it.  So we based our life around the water for many years.  :-)

Very nice "sailing painting".  I love that the sails are full and the wave after the boat is realistic.  Are you a sailor as well?  I was.  smile

Thank you very much Ningning.  I really appreciate your lovely comment.  I agree that it wouldn't be good being on a boat with that storm coming!  :-)

So impressive, It touches my heart. those people in the boat are brave. Maybe some of them regret but could not off the boat, Lol. I love your knife work, those textures really make the waves moving quickly.  Marvellous painting!!!

Thank you Eddie for your thoughtful advice.  I will do some sketches and see how they turn out.

I like this painting well done!  I wonder what would happen if you moved the boat over to the left of center a little more and flipped the sky so that the dark storm clouds were up against the sail?  You have a great concept here.  You may want to get out your sketch book and render this painting really small in varying ways.  Do some more paintings with your idea.  It would be fun to see how they progress.  Love the movement in the sky.

Great action Colleen. There is a kind of tension between the strong triangles in the water and the "softer" balancing curves of the clouds and sails. Cant express this very well But its very effective
