"Sailing Before the Storm"

I did this painting yesterday. If anyone has any suggestions as to what could or should be changed, please let me know. All critiques are welcome!

Comment by Colleen McCafferty on March 15, 2015 at 11:50: Thank you Roena. I am not a sailor myself although I did try to learn to sail small dingys but without success. However all of my children did learn to sail and loved it. So we based our life around the water for many years. :-)

I wonder what would happen if you moved the boat over to the left of center a little more and flipped the sky so that the dark storm clouds were up against the sail? You have a great concept here. You may want to get out your sketch book and render this painting really small in varying ways. Do some more paintings with your idea. It would be fun to see how they progress. Love the movement in the sky.
