I do like it. I am just learning, so I don't know about the tension or distraction of the wave, but without it wouldn't the painting have a lot less energy/interest? Congratulations on Longworth! I will have to go there and check out your work. It's only 10 minutes from me.

Hi Sandi, I agree and understand completely!! .....  I hate taking things out that are good ....so 99 per cent of the time ..I don't!  ... Yes, I kind of thought it was there for balance .....great work Sandi!! :))

Hi Michael, thanks so much for the critique.  Yes thank you I see what you mean...this was a clouded, stormy day with rain bands coming in and I guess my message is about how comfortable these birds are in what we would consider less than comfortable circumstances, I wouldn't put a toe in there! The wave is distracting tho, I thought a balance of darks...but to be honest with you I just love how the pigments interacted that I don't have the heart to remove it! a painter's  vanity??

Hi Sandi ..beautiful painting ...you are such a master at setting a mood.  I am concerned about that large swell over at the right ....it might be causing a little too much tension ...???? ..it kind of gives an ominous feeling .and I do not think that is the mood you are after here? ..If you cover that swell, I think you will see what I mean. :))
