Love the very dark darks on the eggplant and the sides of the jar and the beautifull incoming light. The shadaws work really well. The colour of the jam through the glass works so well. The more I look at this the more I see. Well done
Very Nice!! That's how it's done. Excellent values.
Thanks Stu. I've been interested lately in how other artists utilise the sharper focal points in their paintings.
Dirk, I like the lack of detail on the background and foreground leaves; your soft and lost edges take them out of focus and accentuate the crisp lines of your middle ground objects in the focal point. I think this is a terrific painting and I wouldn't do a thing to it if it were mine. Stu
Thanks Richard, i see what you mean about the front leaves. I'm learning there is a fine line between too loose & not enough detail. The final run home is the crucial stage of the painting process.
Dude. That's more like it - much better than your first one, which was still good, but this is better. Beautiful. Feel like the leaves in the foreground could do with a little bit crisper detail in the stems. If I did this one I'd be patting myself on the back.
Very nice!
Lovely warm colors and nice reflection in the jar.
