The building is a landmark of sorts at the corner of San Fernando Road and Glendale Avenue in Glendale, California. It's been up for lease and unused for quite some time now... it intrigued me as the empty edifice that it is. Thought I'd better make my record of it before it's possibly torn down.

Stu,
Hello to you. No, I don't know Jennifer, but I follow her work. Thanks for the suggestions on painting "Brand's Castle" and the "Alex Theatre."
Rick, do you know Jennifer? I really like her work and have been trying to figure out when I can get into one of her workshops. Have you ever painted the "Brand's Castle" (El Miradero)? I used to live about a mile from there. And maybe the old Alex theatre? Stu
Stu, & Devora, Thanks so much for your comments. And Stu, thanks for pointing the way to Jennifer McChristian's work.
Rick, I just noticed this painting. Very nicely done. I grew up in Glendale, living there through high school and went to Occidental College in Los Angeles. I passed this old building perhaps a thousand times and recognized it immediately. I last visited Glendale 2 years ago; but drive past periodically visiting family in SoCal. Enormous changes have taken place in the many years since I lived there. Your Hyperion bridge paintings and this one give me an incredible rush of nostalgia as do Jennifer McChristian's paintings. I think I need to take a field trip to the LA area and maybe paint some of these places that I never thought of painting in my youth. Your work is quite versatile. I like your fresh color and simple shapes. Stu
Very nice! I use to work in Glendale, I know this place..
