Thank you Anne and Craig, I will go on training the drawing skills and see what I can learn.

Hi Silke , I think it is a job well done , of course a little work on the eyes and mouth could bring it closer. The eyes are more open and the lips a little full and not quite shaded enough in the corners to give the width. Will be interesting to see what you learn please keep posting!

Thanks Craig

It's a good likeness, self portrait is difficult because we are always more critical of ourselves, add your smile to show the real you as it's seems your natural relaxed pose, your upper eyelids are heavier which gives your eyes a relaxed dreamy look, we'll done

Oh, I look sad or disgusted sometimes too, especially when I'm concentrated :-) Yesterday I put the portrait over the photo in Photoshop and reduced the opacity of the drawn layer. And there I could see quite exactly what went wrong. I had really tried to measure the proportions, but from life its really hard. The photo was taken after I had finished.

So: The eyes sit too high in the face and are too far in their distance. the middle and upper part of the head are too wide, the chin part too short and small. The mouth is too full - what makes me look younger :-)

MY eyes are quite big, but I think not that big, depends on the light. I think on the photo I', starting to twinkle. But what is mor important - on eye is higher!

I will try again in some month after training.

I looked at your pictures and really liked them. Very sunny colors, nice contrasts and you managed the water really well. It really seems to be clear and cool

You have good bone structure. Good features for a portrait. I like your eyes. (If I am not smiling, I look really mad or disgusted). The proportions in your drawing are good. You added extra tendons in your neck - You could erase those cause your neck is quite smooth actually.
