Slice 80, Oil on canvas, 10 x 10. Here is my try at Slice 80 (lower right corner of painting). If it helps anyone, I looked up Sargent’s palette. Main colors were reportedly Permalba White, Cad Yellow lt, Transp Gold Ocher, Cad Red lt, Venetian Red, Cad Orange, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber, Rose Madder or Perm Aliz Crimson, Viridian, Cobalt Bl, Fr. Ultra Bl, Ivory Blk, Cobalt Violet. Extra colors included cerulean. I read that he liked to tone his canvas with a cool gray mid-tone. I didn’t have a few of these colors, so I made do mixing and remixing. Since we are copying four or five times larger than the original painting, I don’t feel too badly that I didn’t get those dry brush strokes perfect! :-) (1900 pixels for this are the most I can get out of my Canon Rebel.) What a fun challenge…thank you Richard!

Terrific brush stokes and the colors Debbie.
It's terrific. Nice work. Is it frustrating not being able to replicate those brushstrokes? That's what was driving me crazy until I finally decided there was no way I could get that effect!
Thank you Hazel for catching that. I misread the instructions. Thanks also for the comments. I can't wait to see the finished piece of all the different artists. :-)
This is incredible beautiful Debby!
