I ended up wanting a giant out door rink. I wished to place a couple of skaters on the lake, but didn't know how to make it look real. lol Makes me want to get my skates out!

I really like this painting for its delicate use of color in the right places and the warming house across the rink
that feels so personal. I have always wanted to have a rink just out my backdoor for skating, even though its been a long time. Paintings that can invoke those feelings for a viewer are wonderful and are what make painting such a joy. Thank you.
Hi Francine,
If you were going for a lonely feeling, you got it! That was my immediate thought when seeing it, although, after gazing at it for awhile it could also feel like your destination is in sight. Either way it's emotional. I would note that the fence-line and the mountain-line both draw your eye off the page as well as break the piece into 3 horizontal bands. Pretty sure you weren't going for that. The details in the sky and the mountain give much depth, in fact, as I look at it again, maybe more detail than is in the foreground. Perhaps adding more to the foreground? Then again, I don't likely know what I'm talking about. What do you think?
