Hi Stu, thank you for the comment! Actually I read your blog on making panels and realized what I bought is three layers plywood. I don't know if it is birch or not. I will sand a couple and try them.  If they don't work out I will use them for color charts or practice. :)

Nice composition and nicely painted Laura. Laura make sure you use the birch plywood because it has a nice smooth surface that doesn't need much sanding. Instead of MDF, look for the Ampersand 1/8" archival hardboard panels in art stores or online (Jerry's Arterama, Cheap Joe's, ASW); get them on sale; more expensive but easier with no sanding needed. Betsy, I bought some plywood board in Lowe's store. They only cut plywood not MDF as MDF too fragile. Now, I will have to sand them. It seem a lot work to make panel.
