En Plein Air - I know this is small to see but would love comments. The water was silver. Not sure what to do with the foreground. I am sure it would benefit from being dark, but no clouds to use for cloud shadow. Suggestions for foreground would be appreciated.

Hmm, it is a very difficult scene - gosh, what a challenge!

Hi Roena.  There is not a lot of information in your photo to give you a decent answer, but ..I would suggest that you make your foreground darker and richer in color.  I would suggest you manufacture some cloud shadows going across the vast expanse of land.   This is an good example to all that this scene is a very, very challenging scene to paint.  The light is flat, bright, and no shadows to give form.  It is not impossible to paint ...but challenging to say the least.  Hats off to you Roena for attempting to paint this!  It looks like this might be high noon?  the best time to paint is morning or evening .. to paint a scene with this lighting condition requires you to  develop a concept that emphasizes the permeating light and its influence on the vast landscape.  As I said ...not an easy task.
