Reflections on water go side to side to "make the water lay down". Yours did this. // Cobalt Dryer -- I have afriend in Germany who is trying to order this out of England and they have been "out" for a long time and she is not able to get it. Please tell me if you find it there and are able to purchase it. // White and yellow tend to take a long time to dry. // You would ADD a few drops of the Cobalt Dryer to your painting medium. It is easy to over do and add to much so just a few drops and try it when painting a pic.

Really, the reflections are ok? I re-painted it soo many times. It just didn't seem real. I always adore the water and shadow paintings on some great pictures I see in others' gallery.
Yeah, that was a good feeling. You can get addicted to it too:-). There was another one like this: the "Clowdy" picture - I just showed it to a friend and another guy happened to be there who fell in love with the painting but had no money to pay for it. I wanted to give it him just free but he would not accept it. So Xmas came and we invited the friend and told her to just "accidentally" bring this other person with her and I gave it to him as a present. Was he moved! Little niceties f life.
I haven't heard about this medium. I will have to see if we have it in Hungary. What you mean by "if white or yeloow thick painted"? You mean if the colors are white or yellow? Or?

The blue water did not by any means ruin the painting! If the water was frozen and had snow on it, it would become as land with snow. I think your reflections on water are fine! I did not notice any problems at all. // Husband's friend liking the painting....bet that shot your artist ego right out the roof! How fun is that! LOL Ro............You dried it with a hair dryer......ha ha. There are products to add to your paints to help them dry quicker....like a cobalt dryer. You add a FEW drops to your painting medium. I use it all the time. Usually drys overnight to 2 days if white or yellow thick painted. Have you any?

I see what you mean. Actually the beautiful dark blue just carried me away (I love blue color)., and I didn't know how to solve otherwise to make the water seem closer. If it is frozen and looks more whitish, it does not seem to be in perspective.
I also had some trouble with the reflections on the water. (I do have trouble with it on other pictures too.)
A little story on this: When I made this, my hubby liked it very much (so it is hanging on our wall). But his collegaue also liked it and just mentioned it to him one day. Xmas came and my hubby goes, "it would so nice if you made a picture like this, for him." 2 days before Xmas! So I rushed home, and made one like this in 2 hours, dried it with hairdryer, hubby made a frame that prevented it touching anything so it could dry completely. The collegaue was very happy. :-)

This is nice. You have aerial perspective with the distant trees, nice irregular placement of the bushes, the right loan tree ballances the two trees on the left. The trees have shape and a 3D look. There are plenty of tree branches (just like in nature). I think I like the river part that looks frozen with some snow on it a little better than the dark blue of the lake. That looks like some frozen place, so I am wondering if the lake would be more frozen like the river appears to be? I also like your bold strokes on the snow. Looking good! Ro
