This is a 20 x 20 oil painting based on a photo By Liliya Kulianionak I liked the composition and thought I'd practice - my goals were to lead the eye using soft edges and value changes..comments and critiques are most welcome:)

I am first impressed with the soft folds of the cloth, the flowers are dimensional and you have been able to paint them as abstract shapes when the temptation is to make them round bulls eyes. I also noticed that little pear that is almost facing us directly, he is a nicely done foreshortened. Your ability to paint detail is a talent and you do a wonderful job '

Thomas, do you think I should have taken the detail down a notch in certain areas? I always struggle with that -- I tend to get very stuck in the details!!
