I had no idea the month had slipped away, so I pushed forward this morning to finish this painting. I wish I had figured out something better for the background.

Thank you Svitlana, could you be more specific about which reflections?  I really appreciate the help.

Natasha, this is great job! I like your painting! A little advice to put reflections from oranges a little bit more brightly.

I like the way the half orange mimics the cup. I actually like the background - it gives the foreground more emphasis

Nice composition and beautiful warm light on left of background.  Stu

Thanks for the wonderful comments.  I must be my own worst critic.  I take photographs of my painting progress and if you're interested, I've posted it at: http://youtu.be/OVdjWRQPIKc.

Your oranges are nice and juicy with a translucent look.

This is beautiful...I really like the bit of orange in the upper left background as counterpoint to the oranges...The softness of your lighting gives it an ethereal look...

Thank you, Ross.  I thought your name looked familiar, and sure enough, yours was the first painting I "liked".  I love your loose brush strokes.  Yes, that background bothers me, but I did run out of time.  Actually the only thing I really like is the orange on the left.
