Since I was there as a tourist, I was taking lots of photos - especially on that amazing tram ride down the hill!  (This photo was taken from inside another tram).  Hope you have fun painting the scene!

Great! Thanks, Jessica! I've been there a few times, but never end up with my good camera. I have a few shots on my phone but nothing close to this one!:)

Hi Jessica, I was wondering if I could use your photo as a reference photo. It's a great shot and would be a fun challenge to paint! :)

Thanks Jessica. I think I have enough cable car images. When I cropped your photo, I think I found exactly what I want to paint. Your photo is looking down Powell Street toward the bay with Angel Island in the background. I will take out or change the color of the white car to the left of the cable car and mute the large white sign in the left background, because they are competing with the cable car. I think your photo will work well. Thanks, Stu.

HI Stu - you are very welcome to use this photo!  I took it in 2009 - when I put it on full screen on my computer, I can see the sign on the cable car says "Powell & Market - #23".  I also have a couple of close-ups of a cable car taken at the "turntable" - I'd be happy to send them to you if they'd be useful.

Jessica, I liked this photo better than Richard's, and I am going to crop it and use it, with your permission, of course. I also found some better cable car images on the Internet and will use one of those. I think that this is the Hyde-Powell car. Nice photography. Stu

:D, Well, you HAVE given me an idea...! I will look, for some photos. They want to make some changes in it , as traffic is sooooo intense there. There is no day without ttraffic jams and/or accidents... Apparently it is still the widest avenue in the world!
