Progression of a painting - top row shows the source photos I used and the original painting I did - 16x20. Beneath are the first block in after watching the workshop video - I felt off to a good start - then there I went again - details, details details!! Have to toss my small brushes and have a glass of vino, then try again!!!

Thanks So much Fay! I tend to feel most satisfied with the results when I paint in Flemish method..I think because it's prob more controlled!! I would like to loosen up and get more painterly..lol..I have visions of a huge canvas and throwing paint around..maybe I need to fingerpaint to find my inner child!!!

:-)  Your Flemish painting of the pearls and shell is just exquisite.  I know what you're saying but don't be hard on yourself - you are a very talented artist.  And this painting is just great!
