Thank you Nancy and Li. This workshop has taught me how important the notan and value studies are to the design of a painting and how it is essential to stick with what you discovered in those studies for your final painting. The colour is the icing on the cake.
Anne, I have to thank Nancy's comments. Now I know one more thing why I enjoy your work, those rocks painted" like acarved sculpture" as Nancy said. The charm of the form lured me apart from the other things.
You are right Li. The painting is 32 x 23cm. So Linda no it is not that big. I have always worked in millimeters (mm) having done stained glass for 30 years. I am so looking forward to being able to paint bigger canvases but have a way to go before I feel confident enough.
Is it the size of 32cmx23cm?
Bold!! is the size right? 3.2 meters x 2.3 meters? It is pretty awesome if it is that size!
So beautiful! I love the texture of the rocks.
Very beautiful. Well done Anne.
Thank you everyone for your generous comments. I have learned so much from this workshop. Doing the value and gamut studies is such a help as well as mixing strings of colour before starting....sooo good! I have also made a 'wet pallet' that works so well keeping my acrylics wet for several days.
Beautiful I love it and would be proud to hang it on my wall
