The cut out shape sun is a TRICK. That is what painting is all about.......having a whole bag of tricks. The trick you learn in this painting can be applied to another painting. // I know the value of your paintings to the person you give as a BD gift is way better than if you went to the store and bought something! On that one I had some trouble with painting around the sun... so I cut out the shape of it from paper and stuck it on the board so I could just paint over it, then took it off, then did the small bits. I gave it to hubby for his Bday. (That is one good thing, I give my paintings as presents to Bdays.)

OH MY! This is lovely! Really, you do great skys! To me, I think that bright sun would be hitting the edges of the tree and limbs and the edges of some of the leaves. A little highlight on the grass and slightly breaking over the edge of the hill. Just a bit of the sunlight hitting the edges of the tree and limbs will help the tree look round. This is such a striking painting. I like it! Ro
