Based this on a spectacular sunset we watched recently when on holiday in Provence. The sun was setting over a vineyard, with the hills of the Luberon in the distance.

Thanks Michael for your very encouraging comments!  This workshop has really been a lot of fun - painting sunsets & using all that vivid colour!  Richard's lessons were so clearly explained. I am also noting your comments on Silvana's work, which are very helpful.

Hi Jessica,  Beautiful painting.  I love your contrasts and the luminosity you have captured.  You also did a lot of nice gradations in the sky and land! ...well done painting.

Thank you very much Ningning for your comments & I really appreciate your taking the time to give me your ideas!  I will take a closer look at the colour you mention & the edges of the clouds & maybe work on it a bit more!  Then it will be "alla seconda" :-)

Quite impressionistic and beautiful. I can tell that you tried not to make the canvas muddy like all of us tried to. And you did it.  If I were  you I will lighter the orange and pink  when they close to the sun and soften the edge of the clouds. Maybe you are trying some new style, I am not very sure, because it looks beautiful in colour.
