8 x 10 oil on canvas
I did four versions of this month's still life, and sometimes changed the dish. This one is the third. Each one had an issue....here the oranges ended up being lined up in a row. I was interested to see how warm the cloth and dish were in the photograph and yet my eye saw them as cool.

Oh, You just let me notice that the bottom of the 3 oranges are on the same line with the similar shape and kissing issue. I am happy that somebody point it out for you.

Thank you Li and Karen.

Li, you give excellent critiques.  Thank you so much.  I agree with all what you say.  During posting, it became obvious that the oranges are in a line.  It would be better to have them more uneven.  I think I started off uneven and had issues with the middle orange and the sugar pot "kissing" - touching instead of overlapping.

Marina, your colour are highly harmonized, you made your greys colourful and soothing. Your brushstrokes are dear, fluent , expressive and acurate.  I like the suble way you paint the covering of the sugar pot. The relationship of the values are very good. But I would exaggueate 1 to 2 degree to make more value contrast.  I would also put stronger high light.  I read comments of Richard for other artists. He suggest them put a small spoon on the table. You may try to see whether it would be more interesting if you put a spoon next to the sugar pot.  Just an idea. Marina, you paint very well . You may have to spend more time, if you have time, to reach out to us and we will notice you and criticize your work. I do not believe only I like it.

So good, I wonder why people did not notice this one. I like it very much.
