Oil on canvas. 40 cm x 50 cm., I did 6 versions/attempts! - including one in watercolor! This is the one I prefer (the least worst ;D). Looking at it now, I think, wow, I would like to try again - but 6 is enough. Feel I learnt some things, as usual. Thanks Richard.

Looks good Jon! I wondering if you could show some texture on the roof.... Wow 6 versions! Where the heck do you find the time:)
Michael, I just used the edge of the palette knife. Gruppe and others say to drop the brush straight down under its own weight as it were (sounds risky!). Cheers.
Jon, how did you paint the masts? ...I could not get mine to look good ..
Thanks, folks, fun subject!
Really like the pier - nice highlights on the timber - and the masts on the boats add lots of interest - nice!
Jon great job ! This is one of my favorites. The water reflections are beautiful, both the reflected pilings and the hint of a reflection of the boats. The masts and rigging of the far boats overlapping the building help to push it back and adds another visual plain. I also like the visual outlet of water that lets the viewer travel through and imagine what is out there. 6 is enough, you're learning is on a great upswing. :)
Not too bad Jon!!
;D Thanks, Silvano - it's a difficult subject, in fact ;(
I loved the title!!!! :D .The reflections are incredible! The highlightsin the back buildings and boats give the sensation of a special atmosphere there at the background.
