Acrylic 11 x 14. I glazed the trees to put more variety in the colors, lightened a few shadows. The front marshy area has been completely reworked-I'm not sure for the better. Any suggestions and comments are, as always, appreciated!

Hi Susan. Very nice composition and good depth.  Regarding our conversation with the Munsell system ..your painting would be a good example of the Munsell system.  With all of your yellow greens, the Munsell compliment of Violet would look much better then the Triadic compliment of Red/Violet.  In the color scheme of your painting ..using the Munsell ...you would have your yellow/greens as you dominant color, and Violet as your complimentary.  You would then add your discord colors of Red and Blue.  Susan, I would like to critique your painting, but I really do not want to go into it without asking. :))

Thanks all!  Ruby, I don't have green on my palette, I mix my greens with ultramarine blue or cerulean blue and the cad yellows as well as yellow ochre. I never add white to a green unless I use it very sparingly and I always add some yellow back after I mix white. I mixed most of the greens with Golden hi solid gel and glazed the trees for this painting.  Candi, It's taken me 30 years, acrylics are all I know!  I keep my palette wet and if I'm going to have to leave them overnight, I add in Golden Open medium. I don't like how the medium dilutes the paint so I only use it if I want to keep paint for a long time.  After I add the medium, I spray the colors with water and they stay for me. If you use acrylics, Chroma Atelier Interactive has a promotion where they're giving away a test kit of their reworkable acrylics. I put in for one and they sent two 80 ml tubes of paint (one was titanium white, you can always use more white!), the other was pthalo blue.  They also sent a small bottle of their unlocking formula which they say you can use as a retarder too.  They don't even charge P&H! The paint has a nice consistency too. I will try graying down the far foliage a bit more, thanks for the advice! Thank you, Joy!

Susan this is so pretty and soft!  Love your foliage and plants and muddy water in the foreground.  Just wondering about the very back trees and grass, if they could be pushed back a bit further?  It seems the tops of those trees are pretty close in value to your foreground trees.  You are SO good with acrylics!!!  I am working on one right now, and they dry so fast!  Wish I had your skills at painting with them!!
