My latest oil painting, FOREST LIFE. This one has a story! I captured the image in the fall of 2016 between Emory Pass and Silver City, NM along a stream that runs in that canyon. The idea was to paint animals in as natural a setting as I could with some showing, some hidden, and others near hidden by what was behind them. As it would turn out, the "great" image I thought I had ended up not being quite as good as I thought! Bummer! So I had to spend a lot of time doing research to find examples of the kinds of trees to be found in the Gila National Forest of NM to use a references, so much of the forest was made up. I have done a quick video of the days painting work for you to see the steps. It was fast for me.....only 17 painting days! I am getting faster! Hope you will enjoy my work and the short YouTube video. Roena
