9 x 12" oil on canvas board - sunset painting for Workshop 25. This painting is a first for me in a number of ways. First of all, I've never painted a sky, secondly, in my watercolor work I am very exact, and very realistic. In other words, I haven't "let loose" much. It was a huge stretch for me to try to simply focus on my concept, rather than aim for the detail in the photograph.
As with the value study, I struggled with trying to adjust color. This is as close as I could get it to the original, though it is a bit too blue.

I really like the colours you have in your sky Mary. This workshop has inspired me to do more of this type of painting. Nice work :-)
This is really nice Mary. Your clouds have movement, the colors are pretty, and the land has warmth near the sun. My impression of the cloud shapes is "Sing Praises to the Lord". This is a great painting in my opinion!
This is a beautiful painting. You have captured the essence of the workshop's objective.
