Jon, now I know, it is not easy to put them together. I think that I will try to paint one or two to see whether I am happy about the result, if it is very interesting I will paint a big canvas with dancers. I will let you know after I finish a try. You know a lot and I am sure that your coming still life series will be very succsessful.
Ningning - good question! - version I was on one huge canvas, for version II (the panels) - I think I will glue them to a another big canvas of the same size - I wish I'd done them on squares of canvas - they would have been far easier to glue on top of one big canvas!!! Looking forward to seeing the dancers! I was thinking of doing still lifes/lives with objects that sort of symbolized me - books and painting stuff, walking boots etc. These still lifes seem to be a good exercise for developing one's skills!!
Thank you , Jon, for your information. I will do my dancers. I have already collected more than 300 photos of dancing figures. One question, I see those on the floor are all seperated individuals How did you put them together like those against the wall?
Hi, Ningning - dancers in that format would be really spectacular!!! DO it! Mine are 32 x 33 cm squares of panel. I do them three at a time and spend 3 2-hour sessions on each batch of 3
They are all beautiful and interesting way to show. You must work hard to finish so many pieces and put them together. I always want to do this for my dancers painting. Jon, you encouraged me.
Hi, Ann, oh I'll take on any subject that fires me up - the theme for the exhibition (in April) is the seasons - and I decided this was my way of handling it!
Wow Jon what a large and colorful project ! The thing that impresses me the most is that you are going out of the box where you usually paint farm houses and now these lovely fruit.
Thanks, Michael - I'm plugging away at it - hope to get some comments from ya' when I put it up again!
Very impressive Jon!
Thanks, folk!
Pauline - yeah, the show's in April (the one in the background is a copy of an artist called Johan Messely - forgery = not shown to public ;D ssshhhh !!!).
