thanks Jo!
This has to be a favourite of mine, I am really into water lilies. Everyone has a different way of interpreting them, and yours has such lively colour, and freshness. I need to get that into my own work. thanks for sharing.
Jo
Hey Nancy! I've been doing watercolor for around a ten year period. But because of my style change I'm gravitating towards Gouache more because its so versitile: you can use gouache as thin as a watercolor and yet, as thick as an impasto painting. It's really a great medium. As Xiaongong Zhu puts it..I'ts a well kept secret. Also I usually spray my paintings for uv protection..in either a gloss finish or a matt finish. Did you know you can actually paint on canvas with watercolor? You can buy "Golden" Absorbent Ground (white) and coat your canvas a few coasts then apply your watercolor. (I learnt that at Opus art and framing). It's diferent..you should try it! Take care
Thats great Nancy! I will be posting my latest paintings soon. Have a wonderful Christmas.
Thank you for inviting me to be your friend. I would be delighted to have your friendship. I keep encouraging my friends who do watercolor to join the workshops, but most paintings seem to be in oil. I will show them your painting and a couple of others, and maybe they will feel more comfortable about participating.
Your painting is lovely, Soushane. Watercolor is so fresh and lively. You have painted with such confidence. I struggle with this medium but often try. Your painting has so much movement and a strong focus.
thanks Joseph..actually this is my favorite one and want to do more like this one.
This is beautiful. The rich colors and sharp contrast are delightful
