Tweaked the painting after many helpful pointers -- thanks to all! Perhaps my values can still be shifted, especially in the near foreground -- the photo shows me I can still go darker.

Good luck in going outside Lori!!! I wonder if I'll ever take that step...I suppose I'd be painting all my house & garden corners...  If I was near I'd go out and paint with you!!! :)

You are a very accomplished artist Lori but willing to go outside your comfort zone.  Congratulations!

Thx!! Now my goal is to get myself outside to paint-- I have 99 more color studies to do!! I read the equipment list on VAA for plenitude air...geez that's a lot of stuff!! Until I get what I need I'll probably be in my yard!! It's like a sideshow with me trying to haul everything out & figure out where to put things!! I'm thinking the easel is most important ..right know I bring out a foldable easel, but it doesn't secure the panel..so I pray for no big wind! There are some nice parks down the street so eventually I'd like to venture there...baby steps!!!
