Steinunn, thanks. It was raining while I painted, but the sun had just come out when I shot my on easel photo. This is one of my two submissions for the main event in the Cedarburg plein air festival. Who says you can't paint a good painting on a rainy day? My other painting for submission was done on an overcast morning with just a little light breaking through. I didn't have any other choice; the weather here has been pretty awful. I am photographing everything this morning and will post the other photos today. Stu

Thanks Craig. Yeah, it would have been nice to have had a red car right there when I started, and I would have certainly painted it in, but several reasons that I'm not going to put in a red sports car: 1) They don't have very many sports cars here in Wisconsin, but rather a lot of AWD SUVs (more fitting to their rather cold, snowy winters); 2) The paintings really about the shop and that cool sign in front and not the car; 3) The woman whose car I painted loved it that I painted her car in the painting and will probably buy it (of course this rises to #1 reason rather quickly); 4). They don't have a lot of brightly colored cars here in Wisconsin--lots of black, white, silver and gray cars-- I guess it's the winter thing again. Thanks for your comments. I'm back here in Wisconsin at a 12 day plei air painting festival--2000 miles from California--and having a blast! Stu

Hi Stuart this is great , might have switched the car for some people or a sports car - red!! The building is beautiful great colour and form.
