Two terrific plein air painters hard at work. This is Michael Severin and Laura Xu painting on the beach at China Camp State Beach Park. I cheated and painted a 10 by 8 inch quickie so that I could catch them still painting. Nice early afternoon for the start of two days of the three of us painting together.

Had to do it Dor. You can see how focused they both are on their paintings. Great day and great paintings. Stu

It would be interesting to see what comes out of this idea Stu.  I might do it yet but am going a way for a few days.

Good luck to all of you clever artists!

Forgot to put your name in that last post Steinunn with your interesting idea about painting the two of them. I will probably give it a try. I know our friend Kay Eaton could do it; her figures are terrific, and I'm sure glad she has come on this site. I had a good time painting with Kay and her husband Chuck in Wisconsin two months ago. Ann, we talked about why we can't get you to come out painting with us; maybe we'll have to come kidnap you! Thanks Maria; the spot is always nice and even nicer when the weather cooperates like this past weekend. You're right about it being a challenge to paint the two of them painting, especially since figures are not my strong point. But the photo is really pretty good, the shapes are interesting, and the best way to improve my painting has always been to go beyond my comfort zone. So, I might just accept your challenge. Great idea! Stu
